My Background
I graduated from Plymouth North High School in 2024 with a high school diploma, as well as A College, Career, and Technical Education Certificate. This additional CCTE certificate was earned through a very hands-on four-year engineering program I was a part of Freshman through Senior year. After graduating, I began my studies as an Environmental Engineering major at the University of Vermont. Once I got back home from year one in Vermont and loved it, I decided to stay home, take local classes, and save money for school. Taking a step back this year, was a hard, but great decision, I have been focusing on myself, physically and mentally, learning a lot, and saving money before returning to UVM! I would say I am very outdoorsy, I love to hike, ski, swim, travel, camp, etc. I would love it if your dog could join me on a nearby hike!

My Pet Story
As a little kid, all I wanted was a dog to call my own. Instead, my first pets were just a few shimmering fish swimming around—nice, but not quite the furry friend I longed for. When I turned seven and the fish had passed on, my heart nearly exploded with joy: we were bringing home a new rescue dog. He was huge—tall enough to tower over me when he stood on his hind legs—but that only made him feel more magical. I was determined to help feed and take care of him, proud to have such an important job. I wasn’t allowed to walk him until I was a bit older, but that didn’t stop us from bonding. We’d spend hours playing in the backyard, him zooming across the grass while I laughed and chased behind, or curled up together for the best cuddles after a long day. Some of my favorite memories are from our hikes, with him running ahead, in his bright orange collar, as we explored the world side by side.
After many years, even though my dog held a special place in my heart, he was gone, and it wasn’t the right time for our family to get another one. Instead, in eighth grade, I set my sights on a guinea pig. I wanted a pet I could truly call my very own, so I worked hard to make it happen—I had to create a whole presentation and present it to my parents to prove I was ready for the responsibility. They agreed, but only if I would save up for the cage myself. Bit by bit, I saved money until I was able to buy a big, comfortable cage. The guinea pig’s care was all up to me: his home was set up in my room, and I made sure to keep everything clean, clip his nails, and look after him 100%. He was adorable—so small, so cute—and from the very beginning, he felt like my little companion. I had him for seven wonderful years before he passed over this last summer. Taking care of him became a big part of my life. He would squeak and do little popcorn jumps everywhere, even sprinting at full speed around my room with bursts of energy. Sometimes, I’d let him outside, and he’d explore the yard with the same playful curiosity. One of the cutest things was how he could hear the fridge door open from the other room and would start squeaking, hoping for some fresh veggies. Playing together, watching him run around, and being able to provide everything he needed made me even more confident in caring for animals of all kinds. I loved him just as much as any dog, and those memories still mean the world to me.
